Remembering S. Gale Denley

Sad news from Oxford today. …. From the Calhoun County Journal – Retired Mississippi journalism educator and newspaper publisher S. Gale Denley of Bruce died of complications from kidney disease on Friday, Aug. 29, 2008 at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi in Oxford. He was 72.

Accident appears to have damaged cemetery …

The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Department is looking into the destruction of fencing and displacement of grave markers at Ellzey Cemetery.
Though the damage was considerable, Sheriff Billy Mac Gore said the situation appears to be the result of an accident.
