Each day we'll blog about news in Northeast Mississippi and around the world. Online Editor Todd Vinyard and other Journal Publishing Company staff members bring you breaking news or just some news to talk about. The blog will have at least one post each day Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. We may sneak some in on the weekend. Join us with comments.
We need repair of hwy 15 Houston to the Pontotoc county line and hwy 8 calhoun city to Houston. If we can’t maintain what we have we dont need to be building more
4-laning Hwy 9 south of 78 has been approved and in MDOT’s plans since 87′. 20 years ago. It’s called “vision 21″. Hwy 9 is a big link when traveling East/West. One plan has it going more North/South and bypassing Pontotoc, to Trace state park? Hope they don’t slow down traffic to make Toyota happy.
I believe they have approved 4-laning Hwy 15 up & down the whole state. Totota politics have taken over MDOT now, and they let Hwy 348 cut in front of everyone. It was not even thought of in “vision 21″ and is a low traffic road.
Highway 9 also will help the employies and customers of that area to get to the new Totota plant more easyer. North East Mississippi has been looseing everything to China, So this is also good news for North Mississippi.
Every one will win when all is finished with this road and totota plant.
I am all for it.
