Bishop Update …

The Associated Press
PARCHMAN – Dale Leo Bishop, condemned to die for a 1998 claw hammer killing, spent what could be his final hours Wednesday meeting with relatives and talking with prison staff about the November election and conditions on Mississippi’s death row.

Gov. Haley Barbour denied a clemency request, leaving Bishop’s life in the hands of the U.S. Supreme Court, which had yet to take up three pending appeals filed by the man’s attorneys ahead of the scheduled 6 p.m. execution.
