TUPELO – Police have apprehended a man suspected in a Tuesday morning carjacking and kidnapping on Monument Drive.
The suspect was captured about 9:30 a.m. about an hour after the incident began.
Tupelo Police Capt. Bart Aguirre said the baby, who was only 5-days-old, was found safe and in good health.

OXFORD — A sentencing hearing is scheduled Wednesday for a construction company owner who paid kickbacks to the operator of the defunct Mississippi Beef processing plant.

A 24-year-old Rienzi man died after being run over by an automoblie early Saturday morning in the Jumpertown community.
Shane Steen of CR 8470 Rienzi was found dead at 2:45 a.m., according to Prentiss County Sheriff Randy Tolar.
